Description

I didn't realise that's it been about a month since I last did an update. I apologize profusely for that and hope you'll acdept this page as an apology.

Shepard ain't nice. Because there were so many issues with Liara that the game didn't bring up, and it bothered the hell out of me. Gameplay wise, the dossiers with the personal information about the crew members were great! But Shepard wouldn't look. It's none of her business.

This for example www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwPlZW…

This made me so angry back when I first watched it. What made Liara think not only that it was okay to read that information BUT tell Shepard about it, as a "fun" thing.

This ties in with Liara being obsessed with Shepard. It's creepy and I wish Bioware would've brough it up somewhere in the game, as a part of Liara's character.

I'm a bit too tired to flesh out my thoughts right now, but if you disagree with me or would like to discuss it further, please do leave a comment c:

Well I'm going to rain on this charade.

Remember that the Shadow Broker's operation (heck, the ship itself) had been a going concern for decades. Even before the Yahg took over, the Broker would have had information about the crew of Normandy, just as a matter of course: records of Alliance ships and officers, and especially of the first human Spectre, would have warrant being flagged as Watch For Later. Any automated intel-gathering tech would continue to throw data at the Broker, and when Liara finally took over, don't you suppose that already-gathered intel would have been something she'd want to know? Just as a metric of how much privacy one doesn't have, it would be valuable to her.

And okay, I'll own this: I liked Liara in 1, but she got kind of distant in 2. Tali turned out to be an unbelievable sweetie, but Samara was my wonk object. By the time we got to ME3, I wanted EDI. That Hindenburg of an ending made me so mad, I started writing a fic to fix everything I thought was broken, and add in a lot of the details that would have made the story so much richer.

So maybe I'm just more used to thinking in terms of, "how did things get the way that we find them?" [back story] but...Liara as a stalker? Naah.
